According to U.S. Uncut, President-elect Donald Trump appears to have reversed his position on repealing the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. The political blog came to that conclusion after Trump met with President Obama this week, and according to U.S. Uncut, it appears the outgoing president has convinced Trump to keep his signature legislation.
People are calling Trump a fraud. But what else is new?
I saw it coming. Trump didn’t really believe all of the rhetoric he espoused during the campaign. It was pandering to a certain demographic to get elected. It worked. I believed he is going to backtrack on many of the outrageous assertions he made and forge a path of his own, much to the chagrin of the Republican Party. Trump has no problem changing the script. He may be more moderate than we think. When he was accused of reversing many of his political views, perhaps he never really disavowed them but pandered to his ultra-conservative base simply to win their support. It worked. His reversal on Obamacare is a tell-tale glimpse of what may be coming. After all, his campaign promise to dismantle Obama Care was one of his “firebrand” rallying cries. Before the end of Trump’s four-year term, I believed we will witness many in his support base turn against him.
