COMPTON  — The Compton Latino Chamber of Commerce and 64th Assembly District Dept. of Veteran’s Affairs invite the public to a free Thanksgiving Appreciation Banquet in honor of U.S. Veterans who made great sacrifices in their service to America in the quest for democracy and freedom.

downloadThe affair occurs Saturday, Nov. 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 413 E. Rosecrans Ave., Compton.

The theme for the banquet is, “There is no greater love, than that of one that would lay down his life for another,” said Irene Barraza, commissioner of Veterans Affairs. “[We give] honor and respect to our heroes and sheroes; it is because of them, we are.”

Guests will be served turkey and all the trimmings and special musical guests will provide festive entertainment for the occasion.

For more information call Commissioner Barraza, at (562) 415-7236  or irene.barraza@gmail.com
