The storm front of bigotry in America has lingered cold and damp during President Barack Obama’s historic two terms in office

President Barack H. Obama has weathered the storm front of bigotry because going in he harbored no undue illusions of grandeur — in other words he knew that assuming the office of president/commander-in-chief didn’t mean racism and bigotry were dead. In fact, President Obama knew full well that his election would give rise to the birth of new bigots, or the reappearing of those that had retreated to the shadows in spite of the reality that tens of millions voted for him who were other than Black American.

The evil that appears to be vanquished often lingers like festering microbes in cold, damp places.
