“Kindly remind her that during her campaign she called Omar Bradley a criminal and said he was going back to jail”

So the Compton Herald wrote this (Mayor Aja Brown Unfurls Some Surprises at City Address, July 14, 2015). Not one particular person? How terrible to actually put in print that the streets have not been properly maintained in 90 years and promote that as positive. Because that alone was a lie.

I have reason to believe that most of what (Mayor Aja Brown) said was a lie. There (is) no proof of anything this woman says. Just like the 100 million that a magazine reporter somehow got wrong when reporting. Go ahead and continue to lie. The residents know the truth. People are still dying in the streets and she has done nothing.

The streets were regularly paved under Omar Bradley. (Former mayor) Eric Perrodin took funds and tried to bring back the Compton Police Department and laid off employees to do so! The same employees that were full time and supported him over Omar Bradley. I understand that you must push garbage and propaganda to support a mayor, even one that has done nothing, and held a State of the City address that was really a campaign kick off! The residents know the state of the city when they drive down Central Avenue. Why should they pay Van Brown $5,000 to hear her say it’s not her fault; it was the other two guys?

Thank God the Feds are watching. How in the hell do you charge an impoverished city that already pays your salary and give residents punch and cookies? This is laughable. When they march her out in handcuffs, it will be a great day! And I will kindly remind her that during her campaign she called Omar Bradley a criminal and said he was going back to jail.

With that said Compton Herald. Don’t mention the most successful mayor Compton ever had in the same story as this crook. And if you don’t believe it. Look at the numbers.

Would have been nice if he could have supported the statements with more facts. The original article on Mayor Brown had a lot of areas to refute. However, no rebuttals were given on the majority. Mayor Bradley did some good things when he was in leadership. No question about it. However, it doesn’t change the fact the city was in decline due to factors outside of his and now her control. I think she should be given the opportunity to implement her plan. Based on what I read her approach seems reasonable. Her success so far are a reason to celebrate. The tickets to the event were in bad taste but the objective of supporting the youth were well meaning. In retrospect she might do it differently but maybe not. Sometimes you make the best decision you can and then live with results or criticisms. Good luck Mayor Brown I’ll be watching and wishing you success.
