Sharifah Hardie, Marvin Williams launch X ROADS TV, the industry’s newest digital media/online streaming platform levels playing field
LOS ANGELES — The emergence of corporate online television platforms that made it possible to stream shows and programs online, forever changed the scope of the entertainment industry. Big and small can play. The corporates aren’t the only players. Enter X ROADS TV.The collaborative brainchild of entertainment business entrepreneurs Sharifah Hardie, and Marvin Williams, X ROADS TV, is the industry’s newest digital media/online streaming platform. The official launch is Saturday, May 5.
Hardie, aka “Ask Sharifah,” a PR consultant, teamed up with Williams, president of Big M Entertainment to launch X ROADS TV, to offer the public new and original content consisting of multiple entertainment genres.
“X ROADS TV is dedicated to creating opportunities and transitioning people at the crossroads of their lives who are contemplating moving forward in television and entertainment. X ROADS TV is a way for people to actualize their dreams,” said Hardie, CEO.The online entertainment platform will open the door to budding TV show producers who just need a platform to launch what could become the next hot TV franchise.
“Whether you’re an avid viewer of television, film or new media; chances are you’ve found yourself toying with an idea for a TV show — but what do you do with it?” said Hardie. “Who would you sell it to?”
These are frequent questions that promising content producers contemplate.
“The good news,” said Hardie, “[is] X ROADS TV is where ideas meet action. [We] currently are accepting submissions of original content for consideration.”
Hardie was instrumental as director of marketing at Punch TV, a fully integrated, broad-based studio that produces premium content for syndication across all platforms, in helping shape the early development of the online network.
In her role, she was able to assist the company in raising the capital it needed to expand its reach and gain national exposure. Hardie has represented clients such as the Hollywood Film and Acting Academy, Pit Bull Energy Products, Jordan’s Rooter & Plumbing, Southern California Black Business Expo, Radiance Magazine, Sandy Chasteen, and BOTI Studios.
X ROADS TV collaborator Marvin Williams serves as president of Production, Acquisitions, and Programming. Williams is a prodigy in the computer hardware technology and website development field. By his mid-20s, he was already well versed in a wide array of programming languages. He has served as a consultant for Ernst & Young, Andersen Consulting, Disney, LAX, and multiple .com/tech related companies ranging from e-commerce, video conferencing to distant learning.
At his own life crossroads, when the passion to “code” began to fade, Williams’ computer tech acumen led him to the world of entertainment. When he created Big M Entertainment in 2008, he recognized that Hollywood had gone digital which was a perfect entry point as most of the post-production, motion graphics, CGI, and 3D modeling was achieved through PC and MAC hardware and software — familiar ground.
Big M Entertainment initially became noticed for EFX and Graphics and the first client for the company was Interscope Records followed up by Disney’s Hollywood Records.
Williams has achieved millions of views on YouTube as well as numerous IMDb credits. A sampling of his affiliations includes SONY, FOX, Paramount, Universal, NBC, E1, Viacom, BET, TV One, Endemol Shine, Paradigm, and Escape Artists.
