Holiday family fun events  year-end calendar

The annual holiday Winter Wonderland Celebration is currently underway at the Baldwin Hills-Crenshaw Mall, 3650 S. Crenshaw Blvd. Los Angeles. Co-hosted by the Baldwin Hills-Crenshaw Mall and Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson and the Eighth Council District, a spokesperson for the mall said the partnership with the City of Los Angeles and Coun 3650 W. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Los Angeles, have partnered to bring a free fun event to the community that will offer snow sledding, live entertainment, s’mores treats, and giveaways.

Visit the Long Beach Gingerbread Village Display, now open at 460 Pine Ave., Long Beach. The display that will remain open until Dec. 30, was built with more than 500 pounds of flour, sugar, hard candy, and chocolate by a team of elves. Viewing hours are Tues.-Sat., 12-9 p.m., and Sun., 12-6 p.m. through Dec. 31.

Toy Giveaway to low-income, homeless, happens Sunday, Dec. 16, at noon at the Jenny Oropeza Community Center, 401 Golden Ave., Long Beach. Love In the Mirror, a non-profit organization serving low-income and homeless individuals throughout Los Angeles and Orange County areas, will distribute free toys at its 6th Annual Toy Giveaway, The event will be hosted by Councilwoman Lena Gonzalez for a second consecutive year. Collaborating with businesses and individuals for community toy drives, Love In the Mirror has provided new toys, books, socks and more to some 2,500 children through this annual free event.

Jingle & Mingle Holiday Celebration, Tuesday, Dec. 18, from 6-10 p.m. at 3939 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Latino Chamber of Commerce invites you to share some fun holiday cheer to celebrate this special time of the year, closing 2018 and ringing in 2019 at the brand new Bank of California Stadium and home of Major League Soccer’s LAFC.

The annual Posada Community Fundraiser occurs Dec. 21, at 10915 S. Truro Ave., Inglewood. Hosted by Lennox School District Board Member Marisol Cruz, the annual Posada is a community fundraising event in the spirit of giving.

Join the City of Compton’s 6th Annual Toy Giveaway, Dec. 22, 2018 at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Monument, 200 W. Compton Blvd., Compton for toy giveaways, entertainment, food, and music.

Kwanzaa Celebration and the Ujamaa Marketplace happens Saturday, Dec. 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the A.C. Bilbrew Library, 150 E. El Segundo, Los Angeles. Hosted by the L.A. South Chamber of Commerce. The community is invited to celebrate UJAMAA (cooperate economics), the fourth principle of Kwanzaa. Enjoy cultural music, Southern cuisine, and network with entrepreneurs, local small businesses, and stakeholders. Admission is free.
