Hollypark United Methodist Church hosts Black History Gospel concert, Feb. 16

GARDENA – The Dozier Singers will headline a gospel concert to celebrate Black History Month at Hollypark United Methodist Church, Feb. 16 at 4 p.m. The church is located at 13000 S. Van Ness Ave., Gardena.

The theme for the event is Circle of Life, from the popular movie, “The Lion King.” In addition to the theme song, the group will perform “Ol’ Man River,” from the musical, Showboat, several of their original compositions, along with Gospels and spiritual favorites.

Other choirs and groups on the program include The United Methodist Men of First Compton United Methodist Church, the Men of Hollypark, the Voices in Praise, and the Hollypark Choir under the direction of Richard Moorings.

The event is a joint effort by the United Methodist Men of Hollypark and the WesternJurisdiction United Methodist Men.
