The City of Carson will present its annual tribute to the late labor leader César Chávez, on March 28, 2019.

Guest speaker is former broadcast journalist Ray Gonzales who twice interviewed César Chávez

CARSON (MNS) The City of Carson will present its annual tribute to the late labor leader César E. Chávez, March 28, 2019, from 6-9 p.m., at the Juanita Millender-McDonald Community Center, 801 E. Carson Street.

Activities lined up for the event includes music, dance, and spoken word poetry.  This year’s guest speaker is former KTLA broadcast personality Ray Gonzalez, who twice interviewed  Chávez on the station’s public affairs program, Pacesetters.

Orquestra Salsa Caliente will also perform live music during the event.

“Please join us as we pay tribute to an individual who took a stand to fight for a better life for everyone,” said Carson Mayor Albert Robles. “César E. Chávez lived with positive values and virtues, including dedication to the philosophy of non-violence and public action.”
