CARSON (MNS) — The City of Carson and the Carson Cultural Citizens Cultural Arts Foundation will present their very first Women’s Health Conference and Business Expo titled, “It’s All About Me”, Friday Oct. 16, as part of the month-long National Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.

The conference and expo will occur from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Carson Center (Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald Community Center), 801 E. Carson St. in Carson. Admission is $20 per person. The cost of admission includes light breakfast, panel discussion, workshops, lunch, and a fashion show.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, observed during October, increases public awareness of the disease and raises funds for research into breast cancer’s cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure.

The campaign also offers resources, information and support for those affected by breast cancer, recognizes their family and friends who provide love and support and also acknowledges the innovative, life-saving work of doctors, researchers, and other medical professionals.

“On behalf of a grateful City, we give special thanks to Councilwoman Lula Davis-Holmes for her leadership of this event and the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign,” said Carson Mayor Albert Robles.
