“In Memoriam” is the Compton Herald obituary feature [click HERE for examples]. Obits are viewed by ComptonHerald.org readers for a minimum of six months, and may remain posted indefinitely.

Information submitted must be already approved by family. All submissions are subject to editing for clarity and grammar at the discretion of Compton Herald editors.

Provide one photo of the deceased in color or black & white at a minimum 600 dpi. Please name the source of the photo.

Obituaries can be submitted before or after interment and are posted within 3 days after receipt.

Here are the steps to getting an obituary published:

  1. Submit written obituary via email HERE
  2. Once contacted by Compton Herald, submit a photo of the deceased
  3. Pay fee of $250 via emailed PayPal invoice
  4. Compton Herald editors review submission for clarity, grammar
  5. Published on ComptonHerald.org
  6. A link with the published obituary will be sent to payer via email
