COMPTON — Individuals who may have misstepped in life and served jail time, ending up with criminal records that now hamper them in job hunting, credit ratings, or simply trying to rent an apartment, may attend a free expungement workshop on July 16, from 12- 4 p.m. at Faith Inspirational Church, 357 E. Palmer St., Compton.

Persons who expunge their criminal records can honestly say their record is clean. The process of having r criminal records expunged is different in every state. This means the first step is to find out more about the process in a certain jurisdiction. There are many elements of the process that are similar from one state to the next.

The Compton clinic is open to anyone wishing to clear their record. The session is limited to only 40 individuals, so those interested are encouraged to sign up quickly.

Contact Deputy Rafer Owens to be placed on the list. Owens can be contacted at (310) 605-6542 or at raowens@lasd.org.
