Southern California Edison customers, business and community partners were recognized at annual event
COMPTON — Southern California Edison (SCE) recently joined in the national celebration of Black History Month in Compton at its 16th annual Black History Month event, Feb. 9, which recognized Edison customers, business and community partners in its mission to give back to the communities it serves.
Joining in the festivities was Pedro Pizarro, president, and CEO of Edison International, along with other Edison executives and staff.
SCE’s Energy Efficiency Participation Award was presented to Webb Family Enterprises which manages 16 McDonald’s restaurants, invests in green technology and real estate. Webb family members and friends were joined by Pizarro, and Mike Marelli, vice president, Business Customer Division, SCE.
Dr. Keith Curry, President/CEO of Compton College was a special guest speaker at the SCE Black History Month celebration. In his remarks, Curry spoke on the importance in celebrating Black History Month as an integral, indispensable part of American History.
