Compton College extends HS ‘Senior Day’ welcome mat, May 10

Free parking will be available in Lot A off Artesia Boulevard

Senior Day features presentations, resource fair, staff to help attendees register for classes; complimentary lunch, free parking available

COMPTON  High school seniors and their parents are invited to Compton College for “Senior Day,” May 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., for an introduction to the college’s academic programs and student support resources.

Compton Herald | compton college logoCompton College is expecting attendance by more than 150 graduating seniors representing high schools served by the Compton Community College District, including Centennial, Compton, Dominguez, Lynwood, Paramount, and Marco Antonio Firebaugh High Schools.

The event will feature a variety of presentations, a resource fair, and staff who will be on hand to help attendees register for classes, as well as learn about careers and majors, and financial aid. Complimentary lunch will be provided.

At the resource fair, attendees can learn about Compton College’s degree and certificate options, job training through Career and Technical Education programs, the First Year Experience program, Extended Opportunity Programs and Services, transferring to four-year universities, and the many student services available.

Compton College offers low enrollment fees and a convenient location. Students are encouraged to apply now; six- and eight-week summer sessions begin June 18, a second six-week summer session begins July 2, and the fall 2018 semester begins Aug. 25. Prospective students may apply online, 24 hours per day via the Compton College website www.compton.edu.
