Black Folk: Seeking White validation is simply moronic; the sickest form of ‘Uncle Tomism’

Compton Herald | Uncharted

“Uncharted” is commentary from Compton Herald publisher and editor, Jarrette Fellows, Jr.

African-Americans should deal with our issues irrespective of what other ethnic groups do in their communities. What the hell is wrong with some African-Americans? Does someone have to get shot dead in your family before you focus specifically on the “African-American” problem of self-annihilation? Too many of us kill us, period!

Whether impoverished, jobless or homeless, there never is an excuse to kill another. Much less your own people You go to prison for that, or worse. What does Black fratricide have to do with “White-on-White” crime? Nothing. I am sick of Black folk forever seeking to validate what happens in our community vis-a-vis what happens in White communities.

Gauging the ill-logic of some African-Americans, if Whites began assailing White-on-White mayhem, they will then begin assailing African-American fratricide. I suspect Facebook friend and colleague Earl Ofari Hutchinson, in a recent Facebook post, is baiting individuals to create an aggressive dialogue. What the Nazis did in WWII has zilch to do with Black fratricide in 2017.

That’s my perspective.
